Crider Insurance Services was founded in 1990 to provide services to employer groups. Calvin L. Crider started CIS as a result of the sale of the insurance company where he was Executive Vice President. His background as educator, association staff, and insurance agent provides a degree of knowledge to meet the unique needs of the public school market as well as private sector employers. CIS has been providing employee benefits with an emphasis on supplemental, voluntary payroll insurance products that are IRC Section 125 eligible products. CIS markets Section 125 qualified products.
CIS is a licensed Third Party Administrator that provides the following administrative services:
Section 125 “Cafeteria Plan” Administration
403(b) administration, and
Consolidated billing or common remitter service with our “one check” service.
Beginning at ground zero, CIS has grown to a company that processes over $5.25 MM annually in reimbursement accounts, cafeteria plans and 403(b) consolidated billings for employees in school districts, city and county government, and private sector employers. CIS restructured as a “C” corporation in 1996.
CIS SERVICE PHILOSOPHY
CIS has grown through quality service to clients. CIS stresses service to its client
groups and their employees. Our goal is to provide the best service to EACH EMPLOYEE. Growth has been through personal referral and invitation by client groups to provide services that may be unique to a particular client group. Additionally, CIS has grown through joint work with other independent agents/brokers who need specific products and/or administrative services for client groups.
CIS UNIQUELY POSITIONED TO SERVICE SCHOOL DISTRICTS, PUBLIC SECTOR AND BUSINESS CLIENTS
We constantly monitor the state and federal legislation specific to employee benefits. Our experience in education and school financing began with lobbying for HB 240 of the 61st Legislature. Our attention is directed to the legislative and environmental changes that materially affect our accounts.
PRIMARY LINE OF BUSINESS
CIS is an independent employee benefits, marketing, and third party administrator that provides flexibility to meet employer/employee needs using our own administrative systems and a wide range of insurance products to meet the unique needs of each client group. CIS is not affiliated with or owned by an insurance company. CIS does not sell annuity products in school districts as we consider that a conflict of interest. Employers work directly with the principals. Every account is important and every employee gets personal service.
